daneil16 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Morning Edugeekers, Currently in the process of moving from a 2003 CC3 network to Server 2012!! Everything is going smoothly, but now we are on to the group policies! As we are moving from xp to Windows 7 I assume most of the policies might be the same, but do Microsoft provide some pre-defined policy templates for schools/education establishments? Would save me a lot of time testing completing this myself. Cheers Dan
MrMDStreet Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Sorry to jump in with nothing useful but this would be really handy. I had searched everywhere a year ago and came up short. I had never written a GP before so had to wing it, we now have a solid set of GP and I have a better understanding of them. I tweaked a few that I found on forums and ran through what our original setup was like in Ranger and worked from there.
Domino Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 When I first moved to vanilla from a software managed solution, we used the MS 'common scenarios' package as a starting point. Download Group Policy Common Scenarios Using GPMC from Official Microsoft Download Center These give you a few seperate ways of locking machines down, which you can then customize to fit your needs. Still needs a lot of testing and work though. 1
