matt40k Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Mmm... we're having performance issues, I wonder if running it all in RAM would resolved those issues? Wait a min, no SSDs. For shame!
ICTDirect_Dave Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 I've got Enterprise SSDs here, but they're 3.5" for some reason... Get one of my MSA arrays and plug it into the P810, I'll stock it full of 240GB SSDs
matt40k Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 That' still in the original quote - 12,000 yen (JPY) right? 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 haha! Seventy quid? You're 'avin a Giraffe mate!
abillybob Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Pfft this whole thread is full of troll's! I just want to say I'm very disappointed in all of you! Don't worry Dave it's not to late to accept my SERIOUS offer. No worries mate, stay cool, Peace.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 If you all clubbed your offers together I might just let you take a look at it
abillybob Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 If you all clubbed your offers together I might just let you take a look at it Well now you're just trolling.
Joanne Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I wish I had a need for such a beast. It would be wasted here fo' sho'.
matt40k Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 If by look at it you mean borrow it, then maybe. Might even throw in the giraffe. I wonder how much credit I'd earn runnin Rosetta@home for a day on that thing? Rosetta@home needs your help to determine the 3-dimensional shapes of proteins in research that may ultimately lead to finding cures for some major human diseases. By running the Rosetta program on your computer while you don't need it you will help us speed up and extend our research in ways we couldn't possibly attempt without your help. You will also be helping our efforts at designing new proteins to fight diseases such as HIV, Malaria, Cancer, and Alzheimer's Rosetta@home is not for profit. Rosetta@home

I wonder how much credit I'd earn runnin Rosetta@home for a day on that thing? Rosetta@home You can't have it yet... I need to find a planet and have it named after me with it first
matt40k Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 haha.... so the schedules goes like this... Week 1 - find a unknown planet Week 2 - Cure cancer Week 3 - find the meaning of life Week 4+ - find way to pay electric bill generated from weeks 1 - 3
ICTDirect_Dave Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 Week 4+ would be fine... I'd give the cancer cure away, sell the meaning of life for lots of money to the government so they could keep it in a box and prevent us from rising up, and live off the profits
matt40k Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 So what your telling me is you've already done all this and you've travelled back in time to buy the server for me Why thank you sir.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 Woahhh!! NOBODY Said the server can do time travel!! We DON'T talk about that. Definitely worth the money now yes?
tmcd35 Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Woahhh!! NOBODY Said the server can do time travel!! We DON'T talk about that. Definitely worth the money now yes? I was thinking of making an offer, now I've made up my mind. I'll gladly pay you tomorrow, I'll probably have to return it yesterday mind, if you let me have it today !?!
mac_shinobi Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) haha! Seventy quid? You're 'avin a Giraffe mate! No - For 12,000 Yen I'm having that server , maybe on long term borrow I can use it to mine bit coins and pay you with the mined bit coins :-D Edited June 30, 2014 by mac_shinobi 1

matt40k Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 You'll be a fool to use it for bitcoin mining. 1/ GPU are better then CPU, 2/ Litecoin would be better then Bitcoin and 3/ Bitcoin is a mugs currency - no gov backing it means it's only worth what another mug will pay. Whoever says its worth something is trying to sell you (indirectly) bitcoins. 4/ Be better off with EduCoins, least they buy you beer.

matt40k Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 It's a billion educoins for a pint. In true Edu form, if you were in the private sector your deeds would be worth about 30 pints vs the 1 you'll get.
featured_spectre Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 What about 750,000,00 Vietnamese dong? I didn't think they had a population of that many men.... 1
