...no we're not moving into educational video on demand services!

But I do now have a lovely bunch of HP G6/G7 1U & 2U servers. I've got nothing online yet but if anybody needs anything specific server-wise give me a call and we'll see what we can work out. I guarantee I'll be able to give you a great price :)

Additionally, there one beast...

How about a HP DL580 G7 monster?

Boasting 4 x Xeon E7-4850 2.0GHz Decacore (Yes You read that right!) CPUs. That's a total of 40 cores with 80 threads! We're not letting you down on the RAM front either with 128GB 10600R in 32 x 4GB DIMMs, leaving an additional 32 slots free to take this even higher if you needed.

It's also got a tremendously lovely P810 HDD Controller, and 4 x 2.5" 900GB 10k DP SAS drives for it to play with. Oh and its still under warranty!

So... for those of you thinking of running a small country, shall we start the bidding at £12,000?

I totally wouldn't mind a shiny new curriculum server. The one they have here is only about a year old though!!

I just want server 2012 to be honest.

I can offer several branded pens and an ipads in education for dummies book.

Why? You're not missing much. A lot of admin on Edugeek have nothing but problems with it!

The above server would still run 2008 R2 and a bunch of Hyper-V's, but only just :D

Dave, how fast does it achieve sentiance after you switch it on?

Turned it on an hour ago... It got up and walked away shortly afterwards. Might be a Cylon, the price just went up!

I sat for about 5 minutes thinking what I could use it for, unfortunately the only answer would be "Mines bigger than yours"
