Anyone got one of these bits of crap ?

Firmware - 1.50.9

Chuck a load of packets at this thing and it falls over in a heap. Funniest thing is, my old 11 meg Linksys router [ which is now dead cos of a power spike and PRE Cisco takeoever ] ran without a problem for almost 4 years.

How Cisco / Linksys can call this a router must be against the law as it does not route !!

Countless mails to their support dept have fallen on deaf ears and it's clear its not just me suffering the problems with this brick.

/RANT OVER

This guy had the right idea:

I was going to try the HyperWRT firmware but I think that knocks out the wireless aspect on it and I have 5 wireless devices in the house hanging of the back of this brick.

I may just bite the bullet and get something else - then may even create my own youtube vid.....

Well it's funny you say that. I've been using one of these at my parents house for years with relatively little problems, just a few minor issues that the official firmware updates have fixed. I've got a few "high-end user" friends who use them with no problems too.

I've never tried the 3rd party ones but have heard that they are very good. Give it a try.

Right now I'm stuck with Be's speedtouch which isn't so bad, but I'd rather have a decent Linksys in my setup once I get some finances sorted!
