Hi all

One of my schools is the first to dip its toe into looking into Windows 8 tablets. It's for primary school use so a good camera, 4 - 6 hour battery life, the potential to attach a keyboard and the need for it to be fairly robust are key.

We've had a look at the Lenovo Yoga which is interesting, but may have more features and flexibility than we really need. I'd like to see what other schools are using and if anyone has any makes / models that they'd particularly recommend?

Thanks in advance

We have been using the Asus Smart ME400C for about 8 months here with our Year 3 pupils. I upgraded them to Win 8.1 using a USB Y connector and hub. After working through the GPO differences with Win 8.1 they have fitted into our network without too many issues. The pupils enjoy using them and the only problems we have had with them are due to our wireless network which will be replaced this summer.

I know that the Smart comes with a keyboard but we haven't used it. The purchase of these tablets was largely down to their lower cost than most other windows tablets. So if you have a tight budget then I would recommend them so far.

@VeryPC_Colin_M please share, we are looking at similar and hitting an availability road block so more possible models would be handy.

Cheers dude, will do. I've sent @kaphc information and pricing on the Intel Classmate 3 and the VeryPC Windows Hybrid Pad 1060. The colouring in department are scrambling to launch them on our website so the info should be nice and available soon, and in the meantime ding me your email address and I'll be pleased to forward the info on. Best, Col

@VeryPC_Colin_M I would also like to hear of any solutions you may have as we are moving away from iPads and going down the Windows Tablet route. I did have a look on your website but couldn't find any Windows Tablets on there?
