CC3 - Management Console - reallocate!

Hi,

 

Just had my CC3 system installed this week. Only had some body to help for a couple of days to get things running and now I am on my own

 

Just logged into work today and reallocate some failed installed packages, to find I am unable to reallocate / deallocate packages to workstations. The 2 buttons are grayed out.

 

Any ideas? - I do have admin rights, and have even tried though the main administrator account, but still the same problem

 

Anybody recommend some fixes?

IF the packages have been allocated at Main Site or Location level you will be unable to reallocate / deallocate at station level if they have failed on the odd station. This will need to be done at which ever level they have been allocated from.

If you need to (re-)allocate packages at a workstation level but they are allocated at a location above the workstation, you can edit the INI files by hand for the individual workstation. These files are located in a folder called PackageControl and are in the Q: drive.

 

Open the file for the affected machines and change INSTALL_FAILED to INSTALL_PENDING (then reboot the machine(s))

There are also a couple of tools mentioned on this website that aid with the editing of these files (search forums for package analyser).

Just had CC3 installed this week?

 

How come you didn't go for CC4 more or less the same system with these little but annoying problems ironed out from what I can see.

 

Then again I'm still on CC3 here so can't comment too much on it.
