would that commodore disk work in an amiga though its a 1.4mb disknot a 720k like the msdos one

 

Seems to be a bone of contention opn the interwebs. I distinctly remember formatting 1.44mbs on my A500 and using them as 880k discs. Seemed fairly reliable back then.

AFAIR, the Amiga formats single sided 880k. You can use DSHD disks but it will only format/use one side. I'm sure I did this loads on my A600/A1200 back in the day.

 

Also remember sellotaping over the right protect hole to re-use unwanted cover mount disks :D

Oh yes! Did this :) Also remember my dad (I was too young, aww bless) snipping out a notch in the old 5 1/4 inch C64 disks to make them double sided :)

I used to have a couple of 5 1/4" disks to use with the schools BBC Micro's when I was about 8 or 9. Or better still (from my High School days)...

You had to eject the disk and turn it over to read the other side!!!
