Dos_Box Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/10/30/apple_seagate_drive_warning/ Mine are all Fujitsu thank God!! A nice warning about Chinese manufactured HDs as well.
webman Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Not good news for Seagate. They've also announced the closure of (part of?) their UK-based presence with the loss of 900 jobs.
john Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Oh no, hope it wasnt the place where you send the dead drives to, not that I have many Seagates expire on me
webman Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Just a manufacturing plant in Ireland it seems. I've only ever had one fail, and that is out of about 30 that I have purchased in the past 7 years.
john Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Thats not toooo painful for me then, but like you its single figures out of tripple figures of drives bought over the years
