Though I've had 'em all, from the big, bulky vinyl boxes, to portable cassette (and CD) players, minidisks, the really old MP3 players that were basically hard drives with a shell..

I had a minidisc player. One of my first 'splurges' on 'new' technology when I started earning more than just 'saturday job' money. Still have it. It still works.

I had that very old feeling when my 7 year old daughter stumbled across a CBBC VHS tape. She was delighted to see CBBC and then asked what on earth the big black rectangle thing was!

I told my son that on my first computer (Amstrad cpc 464) all the games came on cassette and I had to wait sometimes half hour until the game loaded!!! Mind you its not that different now when games on the xbox or ps4 require gigantic updates before you even get to play them first time!

 

I remember I used to keep a flat-head screwdriver next to the computer for when the tape deck didn't want to load the game. A little turn of the screw for the head alignment would do the trick.
