MattDLEA Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Got a few problems this morning. A teacher as took some videos of kids making adverts on his iPad. We normally just airplay to the apple TV that is connected to the Projector via HDMI. However that allows things to be seen but no sound. Had a look and there is no audio out jack from the projector either. We have used a software version of airserver that he has tried to use but the video freezes so no good there. Videos are to big to email, or it cuts some off. It wakes ages to save to google drive and then wont open up? Any ideas on this? Also the videos that have come down and work some need to be rotated 90 degrees, is there an easy way to do this? Cheers Matthew
psydii Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) Last time I was asked this we opened the in premier and it just did it. I'd have thought most modern video editing tools will do this given how common a mistake this is. iMovie on the ipad? Edit: yeah iMovie can rotate, import the clip and twist with two fingers. Cheers Matthew I've had this issue before with the sound and strangely it was a resolution issue on the apple TV unit. Go into the setting a select a different resolution.
Arthur Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 A teacher as took some videos of kids making adverts on his iPad. To prevent teachers recording vertical videos in the future, you should tell them to use an app called Horizon.
caffrey Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I made some scripts for this, converts them to wmv too http://www.edugeek.net/forums/scripts/112583-ipad-video-conversion-scripts.html
mdench Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Download ifunbox plug the ipad into the pc and drag the videos off
JSchlackman Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 We usually transfer videos off our iPads by uploading them to Google Docs. Uploading using the Google Docs app does the rotation automatically.
mavhc Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I wrote this python program to call ffmpeg to rotate: https://gist.github.com/mavhc/78b325cc76a1ecfe3952
caffrey Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 ffmpeg on the command line I have a folder called Australia, in there I have folders called Flip and converted, in the root of the folder I have a copy of ffmpeg.exe For %%A in (Flip\*.*) do ffmpeg -y -i "%%A" -vf hflip, vflip "c:\australia\Converted\%%~nA".mov Copy all upside down videos into flip and run that code
CamelMan Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I use AnyVideoConverter - convert to MP4 at the same time.
VeryPC_Anthony_L Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 You can get HDMI de-embedders which break out the audio to an analogue format. There are cheap ones for sale generally I quite like the CYP one but this is not cheap.
