Anyone had issues installing this? I've followed my usual procedure, using the licenced MSI. It reported to have installed fine, but when I tested as usual in IE at Flash Player Help | Flash Player Help, it reports I don't have flash installed at all. Now v12 fails to install, giving an MSI error: 'A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.'

 

Anyone experience problems?

I always uninstall the old version prior to installing the new version (via SCCM). I've never had any problems doing it this way.

Hmm I use the Adobe SCUP catalogue and use SCCM to deploy it as an update, never have issues with that either.

I've had that problem happen on a good 40% of machines for the last 5 or so releases.

 

I always uninstall the old version prior to installing the new version (via SCCM). I've never had any problems doing it this way.

 

This is how I do it now - I get SCCM to remove the old version before installing the new one.

 

Hmm I use the Adobe SCUP catalogue and use SCCM to deploy it as an update, never have issues with that either.

 

I only ever got it working on a subset of our machines using this method - some simply failed to install properly.

Flash Player has been updated to v13.0.0.206. This fixes the 0-day vulnerability found at the weekend (CVE-2014-0515) so it would definitely be a good idea to update to this version ASAP.

Adobe is pushing out a cross-platform security fix for a bug in its Flash Player that miscreants are already exploiting.

 

Windows users running Adobe Flash Player 13.0.0.182 and earlier need to update it following the discovery of a zero-day attack.

 

"Adobe is aware of reports that an exploit for CVE-2014-0515 exists in the wild, and is being used to target Flash Player users on the Windows platform," the software maker warned.
