Am I the only one that thinks the 1950's glass blowing set sounds awesome?

 

When I did chemistry at A-level I had a lot of fun accidentally nuking various bits of glassware. I melted more than one boiling tube and several glass stirring rods and there was a particularly memorable explosion one day in Organic chemistry when the side of a stoppered beaker in a closed condensing system perforated... Yeah that was fun.

I seem to remember an experiment on distillation that resulted in a rubber bung being shot clean through the flat roof of the portacabin the lab was in!

I had a chemistry set when I was young.

 

Some of the chemicals tasted quite bitter.... That could explain a few things.
