Hi,

I was planning to migrate to SQL 2012, for SIM's.

Is there any plans for SQL 2014 to supported anytime soon? Or shall I just upgrade now.

Thanks,

Martin,

According to the technical road Map for SIMS its Autumn 2014. We have the same dilemma here, does anybody know if you buy the 2014 SQL licence if it covers use for SQL 2012? Or would you have to buy a licence for 2012 & then one for 2014?

If you get the license on your EES scheme, then I believe it has software assurance. So you can get 2012 SQL license now, and then update to 2014 once Capita finally support it in 2016 ;) (obviously SA is for the yearly renewal)

I believe if you purchase SQL 2014 Standard license you have downgrade rights to SQL 2012 Standard.

Yup, just confirmed this with our supplier.

Well it was a filing cabinet full of HR documents*, at the moment it's a wall... neither particularly speak much, but I'd welcome them to start doing so.

* The exception being people who pop over and ask me things.
