server 2003 r2 64bit with exchange 2007

I wanted to upgrade exchange to 2010 but it'll need a better OS. What are the upgrade paths from here? can I go to 2008r2? (as it's 64bit only) I'm on 2003r2 64bit already so am I ok todo an in place upgrade. Should exchange be of a certain version before the upgrade? I'm running sp2 exchange (I think)

You can upgrade 2003 R2 SP2 x64 to 2008 R2 yes.

 

At the very least I'd suggest you upgrade Exchange 2007 to SP3 level before upgrading the OS.

 

Then you can upgrade Exchange again to 2010 or 2013.
