Windows Server 2012 start-up issues

I have an urgent request for assistance with my Server 2012 domain controller.

I have 2 DC’s, both HP DL380 (Latest model)

DC1- Hold all the FSMO roles and hosts a couple of hyper-v virtual servers.

We had an issue with Sophos not functioning / Sophos services not starting

Sophos advised to restart the server, and then remove Sophos.

I restarted the server and it now fails to boot and hangs on applying computer settings.

I have restarted and try booting into safemode without joy. The DC is currently hung in safe mode boot with the message “failure configuring windows features reverting changes, do not turn off your computer” and the little circle wheel spinning round. This has been like this for about two hours.

 

Can anyone give me some advice / ideas ?

Unsure on how to deal with 2k12.

 

Can you repair the install?

Can you do a disc check?

System restore?

 

Sounds like a service it starting is hanging.

Same here very new to it.

 

I believe it is sophos doing this. Does anyone now how to disable services without getting into safemode ? i can only manage to boot from disk and reach the advanced tools command prompt.
