Hi There

been looking at this phone previously only for china market but i see here:

Xiaomi hongmi (Red Rice) WCDMA version Android 4.2 MTK6589T Quad Core 1.5GHz 1G 4G 1280 × 720 4.7 Inch IPS Screen Multi-Language Smartphone Red - Wholesale Electronics on AntElife.com

it's listed as 900/2100mhz for 3G:

Network type: GSM+WCDMA

Frequency: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz WCDMA 900/2100MHz

WIFI: 802.11b/g wireless internet

So, should this work in UK for 3G or am I being stupid? :)

Well got it through yesterday and it's all good. 3G is H+ and wifi working, got play store installed and everything's good. Not bad for £119 all in.

Scores 16758 on antutu x which is about the same overall score as a nexus 4 or just under an S3.

How's the GPS? And can you post Pics?

*Big Chinese phone fan me and have brought two so far, however with the new Mediatak 4G SOC that is due in a few months we should be getting very nice affordable smartphones in the UK too. That and better quality control. I've not had a duff one yet, but quite a few have.

Upon using for a bit and why I've bought a case for it is that the camera protrudes and would get stratched eventually. And the back is a bit plasticy, and cheap a bit like a dell inspirion laptop! But the price reflects this and is no different to many other phones. Still cant decide if it has corning gorilla glass, seems to be plastic if i tap it but have no comparision really to be sure.
