How to write a proposal for new computers

Question.

 

How do I go about writing a proposal for new desktop computers and a server?

 

I've never had to do one before as the bursar took care of it.

 

Does anyone have any examples?

Do a swot analysis SWOT analysis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

 

Ensure you include all angles, how it will improve teaching, make your job easier, improve uptime, reduce costs etc etc. Also make sure you include how it feeds into your short/medium/long term planning and why. If you need to go out and canvas opinion from key stakeholders ( try to avoid the drooling rabid "want new laptop" type though )

Swot analysis is easy, get a piece of paper, fold in four, then fill in each segment note style, then do a second draft until its a thoughtful clear document. Edited March 25, 2014 by ZeroHour
