TechSupp Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Is there a way to map a google drive as you would a shared folder on the network so thatnistvavailable as a drive when they log on a PC? I know I had a script of here I think to do it with the Sky Drive when I last looked at this. Got a Google Drive on our tablets just for transferring photos and the odd document to the network. Bit of a manual job at the moment so just wondered if I could do it any easier. Did read there is an app I can put on the server to sync with it them map the folder it syncs to as normal, is that right and has anyone done it?

There is... https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2375078 Once it has been installed on the server and you have logged into the Google account, share the Google Drive folder (%UserProfile%\Google Drive) as you would any other folder and map a drive to it on the other Windows computers - either manually or via Group Policy. 1

We're now looking at this too - our aim is to have all our user's files from our main Windows file server, including individual home areas and shared areas, synced to Google drive, then have those files synced again to another file server, possibly Debian-based, in another location. I thought the Google GADS tool synced data from Active Directory, so it would create accounts for each user, but doesn't populate each account's Drive with files? Is that not right, if you tell it where user files are will it actually sync those as well?

MrFrostmaul Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Have a look at IAM Cloud, we use it for Office 365 for Sharepoint and Onedrive mapping, but I'm pretty sure it works with Google as well.
