Remotely logging into multiple computers simultaneously

I know I’ve seen this discussed on Edugeek before, but my weak Google-Fu is unable to employ the proper terminology to find the threads here or on search engines.

 

Occasionally, I have the need to use the same login for every computer in a lab at the same time. Walking around to every computer is a minor chore. I can wake the boxes remotely, but I still have to manually enter the username and password.

Does anyone have any tips or links to software available to perform this task?

We have started to use iTalc (open source) has been discussed multiple times on Edugeek. Is very nice!!

ITalc can do this task pretty easily, I let my teachers take care of it since it's as simple as opening the program, clicking connect and typing in the login details. Plus if your labs support wake on lan you can turn everything on with iTalc aswell.

Be advised though that deploying it is not straight forward and if you want to figure it out yourself be prepared for alot of time investment.

Looks like a nice piece of software.

We already use Vision which surprisingly does not seem to have this feature.

 

I worry about how nice iTALC and Vision would play together. Anyone know of a more standalone app?

Erm vision can do this.

 

Part of the extended features for running a program, or shutting down rebooting, in fact I think it's shutdown, log on option.

NetSupport allows you to do this - I wouldn't purchase the program just for this capability though! It's not a cheap program, but if you do happen to have it then it's a viable option.

Alrighty, if you do that I'll fix it up and hopefully it'll help some people out. I also don't have a guide for installing it on linux clients so maybe someone will provide that eventually.

AB Tutor Control can do this, and out of the ones you need to pay for, this is the cheapest

Slightly more expensive than AB Tutor Control but still relatively cheap in the grand scheme of things
