Graham-Millgate Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 There was a guy in the gym yesterday that was massive and had skinnier legs than Gru!

Graham-Millgate Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Wanna see the original picture now D: Yeah me too!
featured_spectre Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Not the original but just as hilarious http://d24w6bsrhbeh9d.cloudfront.net/photo/adNxbNN_700b.jpg
Graham-Millgate Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I have that same vest! Most of the guys at my gym have skinny legs like that. I did leg day yesterday lunch and then ran 6 miles with the dogs last night and aside from the blister I have aquired on the foot I am walking like i'm riding an imaginary horse. I understand why guys don't train their legs but I still laugh at them when thye don't. Just like people who don't train laugh at me when I do
zag Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I've recently incorporated leg days into my gym routine and feel much more rounded. I actually look forward to it now.

It's well known if you want to grow naturally to a decent size you need to train legs. If you can put an inch on your legs it'll mean half an inch to an inch everywhere else. I hate leg days because it makes running and sparring really painful. I still do it though, I think I'm just addicted to pain.
Oaktech Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Every day is a leg day... It's called cycling!
Graham-Millgate Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Every day is a leg day... It's called cycling! Every Day? Sounds like a lot of work to me. I prefer to run 5k's and only because it's a quicker way of making my dogs tired.
Garacesh Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Every day is a leg day... It's called cycling! Better not be skipping arm day 1
Oaktech Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Better not be skipping arm day Totally... it's called lugging kit up and down stairs, and going to the gym 3 days a week. Every Day? Sounds like a lot of work to me. I prefer to run 5k's and only because it's a quicker way of making my dogs tired. Clutch is gone on the car... Everyday is leg day! 1
abillybob Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Does a sitting in bed, eating a whole pack of hob nobs with a cuppa and watching a whole marathon of Rules Of Engagement class as exercise!?
sparkeh Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Does a sitting in bed, eating a whole pack of hob nobs with a cuppa and watching a whole marathon of Rules Of Engagement class as exercise!? No, Torture.
unixman_again Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I go to the gym three times a week, but I don't do any legs; I get plenty of leg exercises doing my ballet classes. 1 If you are training legs, IMO squats are the way to go, but they are an awkward exercise to do correctly. Leg curl and extension machines are much easier. 1. As an added bonus, I get to hang around with a bunch of women who aren't wearing very much! 1
SteveT Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I've recently incorporated leg days into my gym routine and feel much more rounded. I actually look forward to it now. I incorporate pints of draught Old Peculiar into my pub routine ..... and feel much more rounded now!!!

When I was single for a year and cycling a lot I used to do a pilates class to avoid getting stiff. It was excellent. I should probably go back to doing that, the stretches aren't really cutting it. 1. Plus I got a couple of dates out of it.
Graham-Millgate Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I incorporate pints of draught Old Peculiar into my pub routine ..... and feel much more rounded now!!! At least you are in shape, round is a shape
featured_spectre Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 That is my shape also however come the end of march that will start to change when I come off my god forsaken thyroid medication.
Garacesh Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I lost 2cm off my stomach in a month from just doing a lot of walking (Woo, Ingress!) Should probably take up some form of 'proper' exercise too, but I'm too weedy and self-conscious to go to the gym.
Sam_g Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Don't be self-conscious going to the gym, everyone starts somewhere and its getting up and going that's respected. Make sure you train properly and just ask people for decent routines.
Garacesh Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I'm an introvert unless there's also people I know. Being introverted, I don't have many friends, so no 'gym buddy' either
featured_spectre Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 I know it sounds daft, but from when I was playing rugby I was in the gym 3 times a week. I asked a random guy who was quite solidly built for help, he became my gym buddy and we developed a sound gym relationship. We spurred each other on and such like, and it worked for us. I will be doing the same again when I go again.
