If anyone a member of the BCS on here?

 

Just been looking at it as I saw something online about it saying it brings benefits.

I am, and have been for many years, but I will say this: unless your current or prospective employer values you being a member, don't bother. The only benefit worth having is the professional status it provides, but so few employers even know what the BCS is that often all you will get is a blank stare.

Thanks, I just saw a job advertised saying it would be nice to be a member, first time I have seen that on a job advert.

I'm a member. No concrete benefits but it's nice to sometimes put MBCS after your name.

I got Associate membership after passing my PRINCE2 course so I get to use AMBCS after my name if I wish

I used to be, but it's been a few years since I renewed my membership. No real benefits until you're applying for jobs. Then it's a nice thing to have.
