Hi

I am looking for a free (preferably) help desk solution. It has to be easy for end users (teachers!!) to log issues and I would like to put an icon on there desktop so they can do so. Is there any web based ones that anyone recommends as support a few schools and would rather have all logs come into 1 account rather than per school.

Thanks

I'll second os ticket. My Web guys have really made it our own. Fantastic product.

Iv recently got our site management team on it too and that in itself proves a lot. It's easy and has so many mods available for each and every environment. My team love it

We have our buildings team on ours too. If you know any php and SQL you can write your own reports and pages. I've made one that displays how many tickets are open at a glance on a monitor in our office,

We use ManageEngine service desk. We went for the free version. Pretty much the same as the paid for version the only difference being is the free version is limited to 5 technicians.

How do you find jitbit?

pretty neat, has everything we needed, the UI is uncluttered (the easiest among others we tried)... Also, they offer both "cloud" and "self-hosted" versions, and if you ever decide to move to your own server - they give you the backup of all your data (like, weekly download). deans office is kinda crazy about keeping it "somewhere on the cloud", so this was the turning point in convicing... Downside: they have no twitter/facebook stuff in it (and looks like no plans for it)

Thanks, about to start supporting 5 schools, and it's between freshdesk and jitbit...

No problem. Have you already tried freshdesk? Would you mind sharing downsides/strengths... Especially the facebook integration part, we might need this, looks like we have plans on publishing a school-page on facebook (sigh...)

No mate. It's on my list of things to do. It is possible.

My staff raise tickets via email to prevent them having to log in to another service.
