I found the mint green jarring at first but grew used to it. Interesting seeing various colour schemes.

Now I ermm, have to swot up on Powershell... Claiming before @X-13... ;)

(a lot of stuff)

/tears up

In my head, I heard that as Russell Crowe riding his horse down his line of battle before the Roman Legions march into the forest to do battle with the Germanic tribes.

It's probably not said enough, but EduGeek is a marvel and a wonder and almost certainly the only reason I still have a job. I've gone and done a Server 2003 MCSA since I got this job, but I've learnt more here than I did on that course. Hopefully I have reflected some of the shining knowledge I have seen in this forum unto others in turn, or at least done enough bad photoshops/sarcastic posters to provide some small amusement as recompense.

(and for my money, the mint green was a bit offputting, but the rebranding in general is something I'm down with as I expect it brings much more in sponsorship than normal ads do.)

I can't say I like it, I found the mint a bit too bright for a website colour, but you can change it and the site's running costs have to be paid for somehow. I just don't see it as that important in the grand scheme of things.

I like it!

The black-and-mint up top works really well, but it is a little too bright on the eye when surrounded by white. Either the white background could do with being a tad dimmer, the mint could be a little darker (or have some form of darkening gradient, most of it doesn't seem to, and if it does, it's too subtle)

Just my two cents :D

@sparkeh to be honest reviving critical feedback is just a fact of life, especially in business. Im sure the people in the Windows 8 department are used to it :D

True, but there's critical feedback....and then there's just being a bit mean about it.

Seeing as my real initials are RM, I thought it was some sort of personal thing. I was about to stand up and do a speech. Even had one written down.

Now I see it's all lies...

I don't mind the colours.

I am fine with the sponsorship banner thing but I find the way the RM logo overlays the edugeek logo really irritating!

Can I point out that that is NOT mint green - mint green is much lighter and, well, greener, surely? That is more teal-y!!!

(oh come on, I'm sat at home unable to move - gotta do something...)

Have to say although I'm not colour blind, I do have an issue whereby I struggle with low contrast. I know the site well enough not to read the headings any more but if I do try to read them, it's a struggle. White text on that shade of blue/green is very difficult for me.

No problem with the fact it's RM (in fact I may even enter the competition) but have to say to whoever chose the colour scheme, I don't think it'd pass an HCI colour perception test!

I thought about that, before realising it would be pointless as I've only been programming powershell 3 months :p

No chance I'd win anything :D

In fact, I'm struggling right now writing in error handling because [int] drops leading zero's and ($YearOfEntry).ToString("00") doesn't play nice with Test-Path

And there was me thinking 1024 had finally died out, I will add some css magic soon to fix that.

Excuse the mint green, I am male and I am not used to describing colours as things, its yon light green do?

I have, but i like the Homescreen to be purple too. ;)

She be locked to Neon for this week at least and we may have a skin for next week as well but if the rest of the site is purple the homepage will match as soon as the skins are disabled.

You have a bit of time to get your entry in at least ;) its minecraft gear + a possible ps4 as well so it may be worth a crack.
