bmdixon Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I've just bought a 2012 i30 (a week ago) and it's very nice to drive and much more economical than my previous car (i'm getting about 52MPG with mostly town driving). The thing that made me chose a Hyundai is that the 5 year warranty stays with the car, so on mine i still have 4 years warranty (at no extra cost). The model I've got has pretty cheap car tax... it's £0 I realise i'm probably not that useful for recommending the i10 or for saying how reliable a Hyundai is long term but from what I've heard (a colleague has the previous model i30) and read they're a pretty safe bet. 1
StevieM Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Not got an i10 but the next one up - the i20. Just coming to the end of it's 5 year warranty and, overall, it's a good little motor. Bit cheap and plasticky on the interior but solidly built, handles well and very cheap to run. I'm sure the i10 would be just as economical with the fuel and it's only £30 road tax. 1

bmdixon Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Yeah, it's a 1.6 Diesel Blue Drive (i think that's it's full title!). Supposedly it can get up to ~75MPG but it seems mid 50's is more realistic.

r0cketbev Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 A friend of mine has the i10 she likes it a lot goes up the M1 every weekday just fine. I on the other hand have the Kia version of the i40 saloon, I love it to bits.

adhutton Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 My wife has a 2010 Hyundi i10 which is excellent. She rides horses, so her cars are always full of mud and covered in crap, and this one has coped very well. The skip-on-wheels I call it She had a Citroen before that and that just fell to bits! The only negative with the i10 is the small wheels and she has needed quite a few sets of tyres, as they seem to wear out quite quickly. Apart from that, all good Andrew
rad Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 OH has a Suzuki Swift, 1.3 diesel is fantastic and the power on pull away catches me out, it is quick.
