enjay Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I've just noticed that E-Science doesn't work on my Vista PC, the JustClick splash screen opens but nothing appears after that. Has anyone else found this, and is there a way to make it work?
dancingdruid Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Worked fine on my own vanilla Vista home premium laptop - not tried it on any other version of vista though.
john Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Doesn't work for me either, then again it never really worked anyway, and I can only hope the new version due in the new year I think Grumbledook or someone on here said, will actually work.
Ben_Stanton Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I just reinstalled the java and flash runtime/plugins that came on the CD - then it worked That was on both client and server by the way. Also make sure port 8130 or whatever it uses isn't blocked. Ben
bossman Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 yes it runs on an older version of flash i think we have just had the same problem.

Someone I spoke to in their tech support (about an unrelated issue) did say something about Java versions at the server and client having to match in order for it to work. That said, I've just discovered that it does work if you run the justclick.exe from the share on the server rather than the one on the local PC.
Ben_Stanton Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Anybody got a working XP (NOT VISTA) disti? I have tried building MSI after MSI and they fail everytime. Cheers
