Logging PC use

Morning all,

I am looking for a PAID solution which will clearly show me how often a collection of Windows computers are used over a course of time. Either number of minutes signed in or logons over a day or a week is required and it must have a clean reporting system.

-Impero is out as I don't want to pay for the rest of the solution

-Very hesitant to use a script. I know a lot of you do this but I want a 100% guaranteed solution with minimal buggering about which presents the data in a clear format (no please "run this script then export it here" reply's).

-Have found a few but they are always part of a larger system which they want a fortune for.

 

Can anyone recommend something or is it just not to be.

The best software i have seen for this is userlock. We have had it for years.. infact must be about 10-12 years we have been running with userlock and not once has it let us down. I highly recommend it.

Download the trial. You can set the server up on a workstation. The only problem is you need to install the agent on all machines but the software can do this automatically. Very easy to use, configure and reporting is clear.

Rob, you are welcome to simply have the logging aspects of Impero if thats all you need, the computer usage is actually under the power management feature.

I've not found the logging in this area before; it's about to tell me how many times per day every PC in school was logged on in November, which I can then filter in Excel to determine average usage of each ICT Suite.

 

(So I can decide which one to close this summer - mwahahaha!)

Userlock will do this.. down to user level and down to machine locked.. logged on or off and display stats on the date range. I've not posted the individual logons but ive given the session stats for one of our rooms since September.

But we already got Impero installed, whereas we'd have to deploy and install Userlock and wait for it to log results...
