ashdent93 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Hello, One of our users asked for FMS installed the other day... Installed fine! But everytime she tries to open it now it cannot find the ini file and you have to manually select the S drive for it to log in. I have come across this before but for the life of me cant remember what the fix was... Cheers,
saundersmatt Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Just a guess, but sounds like she doesn't have write permissions to c:\program files\sims When you select where the connect file is it writes that location into an ini file in the FMS subfolder. Matt
ashdent93 Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 That was my initial thought, i made her a local admin but still no joy
Jawloms Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I always copy and paste a known good fmsconnect.ini file in the C drive otherwise you get all sorts of weird problems......
Rawns Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 UAC/Permissions. FMS will create a FMSConnect.ini file in the FMS folder with a redirect line to the S: drive, but it will be deleted after FMS is closed. Right click and run FMS as Admin to permanently store the FMConnect.ini, or manually create one.
athornton Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Just a guess but are you sharing the correct INI file via solus 3? If I recall there are two versions one which looks at the server direct which needs mapping and another one???
