Digital Signage

Just a question for everyone (suppliers included). There is a possibility of digital signage going in my current establishment. What would be the best way to get digital signage for 4 floors, possibly 2 screens per floor, different sets of signage on each screen.

 

Looking at purchasing screens and whatever equipment that would with it.

I did use XIBO but now I use this FREE Digital Signage for everyone

 

Has a nicer interface I think and is cloud based so I don't need a webserver for it

Appears to be a win/mac desktop app, a website version, and an android/ios version, someone should make a rpi distro for it, get a tv with usb for power, run ethernet and power to it, turn on tv, boots rpi, done

Kind of. The design software and players run on Adobe Air, but you can just run it on IE in kiosk mode and it will do the same. Can be seen anywhere though so the head even take a laptop with our signage web page on any primary visits\conferences.

We trialled xibo and a few others and then went with planet esign - as we already had an estream system it seemed to make sense and it is for me easier to use personally.

There are stacks of solutions that will do this for you buddy. LG Supersign is the one that I'd recommend.

I don't get why most solutions need an external box to be fitted to the tv.

There are some solutions built into TVs, but in my experience they are awful! Basically hardware manufacturers trying to create software and failing badly.

 

We use OneLan boxes here. They aren't cheap, but our oldest is 6 years old now and it is still working very well.

We want something we can plug in behind each screen, it picks up what it needs from a specific folder, and runs it through daily. Nothing too taxing
