featured_spectre Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Just a question for everyone (suppliers included). There is a possibility of digital signage going in my current establishment. What would be the best way to get digital signage for 4 floors, possibly 2 screens per floor, different sets of signage on each screen. Looking at purchasing screens and whatever equipment that would with it.

mavhc Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Appears to be a win/mac desktop app, a website version, and an android/ios version, someone should make a rpi distro for it, get a tv with usb for power, run ethernet and power to it, turn on tv, boots rpi, done

The design software and players run on Adobe Air, but you can just run it on IE in kiosk mode and it will do the same. Can be seen anywhere though so the head even take a laptop with our signage web page on any primary visits\conferences.
MarkSixsmith Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 We trialled xibo and a few others and then went with planet esign - as we already had an estream system it seemed to make sense and it is for me easier to use personally.

There are some solutions built into TVs, but in my experience they are awful! Basically hardware manufacturers trying to create software and failing badly. We use OneLan boxes here. They aren't cheap, but our oldest is 6 years old now and it is still working very well.
