I don't know how many people on here work in Milton Keynes now, but I just thought I'd ask what you were doing to replace the mkschools.net service that imploded at the beginning of December?

I've not heard of any schools that have decided to pick up the councils recommended new MKSP service.

I used to support several primary schools there in my previous job. Still in touch with them and I think that they are all heading over to E2BN.

Seems a real shame as my experience of MKSchools.Net was excellent.

I'm an Academy in MK.

We have gone with e2bn as well. Best speed and price.

How would you rate the service quality and the support? Do you do your own filtering or rely on theirs?

we've delivered Internet service to half a dozen schools for over a year. Out of Interest the Bradwell Abbey Exchange was one of the first in the country to get FTTP so we can deliver services of 330Mbit there :)

I think we've signed up about a dozen more schools but every man and his dog seems to be trying to flog broadband in Milton Keynes at the moment. Let me know if you'd like a quote and I'll send Craig over who lives a short drive away to say hello.

Thanks

Unless e2bn filtering has changed since I was last using it (2012) have fun trying to get a site blocked or using your own filter with it. Was not a pleasant experience in either case.

Getting a site blockd or unblocked took a request which was handled around 3 weeks later. Using a filter (we had bloxx, but also demoed smoothwall) it ground too a halt.

Milton Keynes based. We've gone with Schools Broadband (hello!).

We had concerns about low uptake with MKSP/Updata, which would have had a knock-on effect on their final price.

I have to say though, we had a great relationship with MKSchools. Shame it had to end so abruptly.

Thanks @LeonDan we look forward to you joining the party :)

I support 10 sites across MK & they all have gone with E2bn. Best prices & Speeds. Apparently only 6 schools have gone with the ridiculous prices of the MK Council/Updata. I have dealt with Updata as I support a few schools across Bucks & they are without doubt the worse company I have ever dealt with!!
