Grommit Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Hi I want to upgrade the main DC FMSO, File Server to R2.. How simple is this.. ? Would it be a case of just popping in the disk or is there a lot more to it as I have done upgrades before and they seem to reset everything.

m25man Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 You need an R2 Product Key Though! R2 Disk1 is just 2k3 SP1 and a normal SP1 key will work. As soon as you upgrade to R2 an R2 Product ID is needed. If you have an R2 VLK this can be entered during the Disk1 setup and it won't ask you again.
ChrisH Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 The process is as simple as: 1. Schema update. Most people will have done this by now if they have exchange etc. 2. Load the relevant R2 components on the servers you want them on. I have a couple of R2 servers and a few non R2.
