iceman85 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) Does anybody else intermittently have this problem with youtube, the video wont load you just get an error message saying "an error has occurred please try again later" ? We seem to be getting in more and more at the moment, youtube is whitelisted in our firewall and our download speed is good so I am not sure what it could be. We are on ie 9, could it be a problem with the browser? Edited December 10, 2013 by iceman85 cropped image
newpersn Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Plug a pair of speakers in and restart IE 2
akidosaint Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 We had this issue with the generic graphics\sound driver updated to the specific driver all sorted. 1
Danp Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 As above, make sure headphone or speakers are plugged in before opening internetz 1
notalot Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 If your driver has an auto detect for the front jacks then disable it, it will allow flash to play. 1
p3dr0 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 if headphone solution does not work try recreating users profile it worked in our case.
iceman85 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Thanks! I didn't think to look at a sound related issue, il have a look at the drivers and speakers to try to resolve it
Ryno Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I got this problem when our web filtering was blocking the adverts.
plexer Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Use chrome or plug speakers/headphones in. Ben 1
pleach85 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Have you got googlevideo.com unblocked in your firewall too? Youtube sometimes uses that URL.
Kenny_G Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Have you got googlevideo.com unblocked in your firewall too? Youtube sometimes uses that URL. We had the same problem last week and it was the above url.
iceman85 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Have you got googlevideo.com unblocked in your firewall too? Youtube sometimes uses that URL. I have just added that URL to the white list, hopefully that sorts it. Just need to find a minute to test that and the sound fix out now
mthomas08 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Glad we haven't been the only ones with these issues!
AMLinington Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Indeed, the audio driver/output situation was causing us some headaches with many customers thinking there was a filtering issue. The worst part about it is that the 'error' is so useless - if a video won't play due to not detecting an output I wish it would say so! 'Tis a bit like the Sophos Intelligent Web tool - doesn't actually tell you when it's blocking a site or indeed why leaving it to you to try to work out what's wrong.
DSapseid Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 adding the googlevideo.com url a few weeks ago fixed the same issue for me.
