Recommended Video Capture Thingammy?

Hi folks,

 

We're looking at getting one of the CCTV bird boxes from the Morrisons points scheme: http://www.morrisons.co.uk/More-for-you/LetsGrow/Catalogue-2013/Wildlife/CCTV-Bird-Box-Kit/

 

The Science teacher who wants to get it want to be able to capture video/stills from the device, which seems to output with composite video and mono audio.

 

Any recommendations for a Win 7 compatible cable/box?

You could use a blackmagic USB capture card (£99):

I've not tried any of the really cheap ones, but for the purposes of what you are trying to do, something like this would also work:

(Note that this needs a sound card conneciton on the pc for the audio, so may not work well with a laptop).
