jmair Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 How much trouble do you go through to get a device to work with your web filter if it's the device and not your filter? *Wasn't sure to post this here or in the "How do you do it" section. Here seamed more specific.
Danp Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I will keep plugging away. Sometime I have to give it direct access to make sure it's fully updated and also remove their AV\security and install something else I know works (MS SE). What's the issue?
FN-GM Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 @Danp I don't think he/she has a specific issue, just a general question. @jmair Do you mean in a BYOD environment?
plexer Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I would supply the access and support on a best endeavours basis and limit the amount of support for the users own devices. Ben 1

Yes, we are on a BYOD network. Not every device works for one reason or another and I’m curious how other tech address the issue. I should note that I’m happy with the filter. It’s doing its job fine. If the device doesn’t authenticate, they don’t have access. So is it my responsibility to help all of the devices that won’t authenticate or should I have the ‘tough luck’ attitude?
