How much trouble do you go through to get a device to work with your web filter if it's the device and not your filter?

*Wasn't sure to post this here or in the "How do you do it" section. Here seamed more specific.

I will keep plugging away. Sometime I have to give it direct access to make sure it's fully updated and also remove their AV\security and install something else I know works (MS SE).

What's the issue?

@Danp I don't think he/she has a specific issue, just a general question.

@jmair Do you mean in a BYOD environment?

Yes, we are on a BYOD network. Not every device works for one reason or another and I’m curious how other tech address the issue.

I should note that I’m happy with the filter. It’s doing its job fine. If the device doesn’t authenticate, they don’t have access. So is it my responsibility to help all of the devices that won’t authenticate or should I have the ‘tough luck’ attitude?
