Looking for compact camera to replace my trusty Lumix TZ8

Ever since I let my Lumix TZ8 take a swim it's never been quite the fab camera it was before!

 

Im looking in got replace it and am thinking of either shelling out a heap for a TZ40 or going for a Canon SX240 HS which is currently a hundred quid cheaper than the Panasonic. Any recommendations from fellow Edugeekers please?

In the absence of any other recommendations I love my Canon SX110.
