Numbers & Roles in your IT Department ?

Two:

 

1x technician (me) - pretty much everything

1x network manager - making coffee and flitting about (quick censor my name!! lol )

 

We support currently 1300 users, 600 PC's, 200 laptops, 12 servers (some virtual), CCTV system, AV systems (we had a separate techy for this but he retired and wasn't replaced). And pretty much anything else you can plug in

ICT Tech (part time)

 

700 users - 250 computers - 6 servers - managed wireless system, SmartBoards etc etc moving us into the AV stuff as well now..

There's me (NM) and an apprentice. Network is around 450 devices and 900 users; Around 30 physical and virtual servers. We also offer support services to our adjoining infant school. We support everything you'd expect, although a new role was created to remove responsibility for things like reprographics, website & VLE development, AV services/social media etc. It's freed us up to be an IT support department again, although I'd ideally like a technician added to the team at some point to allow us to be really proactive in all areas.

ICT & MIS Manager - server management, network management, project planning, finance, MIS, consultations with feeder schools.

 

Assistant Network Manager - some server management, MIS management, help desk management, manages the other techs workload, plans the Cisco course material we deliver.

140 staff, 1400 students, 400 pcs, 50 thin clients, 100 staff laptops, 100 staff iPads, book able iPads, and soon to be ( hopefully) 700 student iPads then increasing until we have a 1 to 1 scheme for the whole school.

NM - full time, anything server related, orders etc

Tech- full time (me) anything and everything, mac, cashless, pcs, projectors etc

Tech -term time, drinks tea, installs new stuff and looks busy, oh does SLG admin

IT admin, drinks coffee! fills printers with paper and toners! does user pw, space, pc etc

 

1000 pcs, 2400 users, 7 virtual servers
