I'm keen to set Apple Configurator up on the device and manage a small provision of iPad's. The macbook currently has Snow Leopard 10.5.8 installed, which as I understand isn't supported back AC. Can anyone advise on the process/ costs involved with upgrading from this to Mountain Lion? Apple (United Kingdom) - OSX Mountain Lion - Move your Mac even further ahead. Thanks

gwendes Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 SNAP! I found a macbook pro in one of my client schools the other day. Looked like a cupboard of empty boxes but I think everyone had just read the 'DO NOT TOUCH' on the MBP and followed that instruction!

Mark182 Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I’m not sure but I install from 10.7.5 to 10.8.5 last week and did not lose any files or my windows installed bootcamp my mac book. What do you mean by “how much will it break?”

CamelMan Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 We've just jumped from SnowLep to Mountain Lion - should be ok. A above £14 from App store. Dont think there were any intermediate steps - however I might have nodded off at some points.... It didnt break anything (but I took a back up of the user files as per usual)
3s-gtech Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Yeah you'll need to buy a copy of Snow Leopard first, if you want to do an in-place update to Mountain Lion. Pretty painless process though, we've done a number of Macs from 10.5 to 10.6 and 10.7 to 10.8 and our server went from 10.6 to 10.8.
