Basically, we have about 200 pupils, about 170 teaching assistants, around 60 teachers, and 30 odd admin/support staff. All teachers and admin/support staff will have their own machines, there will be about 2/3 machines in each classroom (say 20 classrooms), and around 30 more machines in breakout areas across the school. Would an office 365 subscription for, say 120 people, cover us for this situation? Or would a site license be cheaper? Do Microsoft dtill do site licences? Cheers
john Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 You probably want to look at something like the EES agreement from Microsoft where you license the FTE of staff and it covers you for all machines on-site with that.

He has 260 FTE (in Microsoft's opinion) for 200 pupils and only 90 computers (assuming 3 in each classroom). Surely per computer model is far superior when you have nearly 3x the staff to computers.

They put they all have a PC each plus 3 per classroom so thats 260 staff = 260 staff PCs plus 3x 20 classrooms = 320PCs

Just got a quote from a company called Millgate, apparently with office 365 subscription model, we can get away with 120 licences of office pro plus (the majority of LSA staff don't use the machines), and install on all machines. Pupils don't get charged for licences. Sweet!

How would that work, maybe more of a question for @Millgate as Office 365's downloadable copy of Office 365 is for 1 user to use on 5 PCs I thought not for any user to use on 5 PCs? Maybe I have misunderstood how Office 365 works? That is why I suggested EES as you just license the entire staff and then you have unlimited PCs on-site that are covered for any user be it staff or student and you just update the FTE count once a year at renewal. 1
