do they have a QA team or just let the programmers push it out into the wild when they are board of messing with it.
there are a few companies that come to mind with that phrase

I did a fresh install of enterprise x64 from VLSC into a VM. There was no option to setup a local account. I had to use my Microsoft account, then receive a security code on my mobile. This is unacceptable for an enterprise version. Does anyone know if I install with MDT will it bypass this BS.

EDIT: this default yellow desktop is horrid.

Thanks,

I still can't download it from VLSC!

And my current Windows 8 test PCs cannot use Update (hangs every time)

Are MS really trying to push us towards Macs? Windows 8 is making Vista look good. At least when I installed Vista the updates worked!

I can confirm VLSC worked very well on Sunday for me - very fast and no problem using the web download (just my slow 2mb connection was the issue! LOL)

8.1 installed with ease and no problems.

I now hasten to add *do not use Update*. Out of all the Update installations, nearly everyone I know has had some form of issues. Of all the updates done (on Pro machines) from ISO we've had no issues.

Touch wood, so far all the machines I've upgraded to 8.1 don't seem to be affected by any of the reported issues. In fact, I have to grudgingly admit that a five year old PC I put Windows 8 on in a moment of boredom is now flying and very happy with 8.1 and I'm now using it as a secondary workstation in my office.

Hmm. 3.7 GB download and we get a useless 'Start' button and a few extra menu options. The download size suggested an entire OS reinstall but that appears to be untrue

Ah, the drop kicks can't even support their own hardware, worked on 8, not 8.1

I'd report it, if I knew where to.

Fixed it, set it as a generic hid composite device manually. Still that is the kind of bs I expect from XP.
