Mcom Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Hi All, We have a few old projectors here that don't have freeze (Pause) functionality. The projectors are in good condition with low lamp hours so I cant replace them. I was wondering if any one had seen or is using a solution to freeze an image before it gets to the projector.
Chris_ Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 With our Kramer switcher/scalers they have a freeze function, although they cost about as much as a new projector, I'm not sure what smaller switchers they make with less inputs though. 1
Zourous Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 We had some NEC projector's 570's (i think) that didn't have freeze on the remote (very small remote with not many buttons at all), but the projector could still freeze. I brought some cheap compatible remotes from Genuine Copies for that model, and they had the freeze button on them and were able to freeze the screen.

If they are the ones discussed here http://www.infocus.com/sites/default/files/SupportDocs/InFocus_IN5120_Projector_Series/IN512X_RS232_Commands.pdf then there is a freeze command that you can send via serial/network, and possible via other remotes. At my uni they used AMX controllers (hard wired over serial) for freezing and other projector control. Very effective.
