I have had both Gen 1 & 2, Gen 2 is far far better and given the choice between ipad and nexus I reach for the nexus every time.

I find the size and weight very nice as well as having stereo speakers. Do you have much experience with droid os?

I maybe looking at getting one added to my phone contract.

As ZeroHour said, avoid the first gen Nexus 7.

Nexus 7 (2012) = Don't bother.

Nexus 7 (2013) = Definitely!

I have had a 2013 Nexus 7 for a week and so far I love it!

This is my first tablet and first Android device and I have so far found it easy to work with. With the Boat browser I have flash support and I have downloaded some very cool apps for monitoring our network. The only thing missing is Java support meaning the F1 timing page won't work and I object to having to buy the official app.

If you use Android then the nexus 7 is more of the same but with less crudware and rapid updates :)

I am still trying to find a decent case though...
