Collating documents of different file types

Hi all,

 

Our reprographics department have been using a tool called "SharpDesk" to combine documents of a different format into one file for printing. We have had issues with this in the past, but now it appears to have given up althogether. Sharp want a silly amount of money to look at it for us, but ideally I would like to use something else

 

I am not adverse to spending a small sum, but I would need to have a free trial first. The only real requirments are that it should be able to work with PDFs, Word Documents and images.

Adobe Acrobat was good at that don't know if the Free PDF software is as good but in Acrobat you could say take these files and put them together in this order and voilla Worked well for our needs.

 

A quick google says PDF Creator can do it - http://www.sas.upenn.edu/computing/node/1203 and PDF Creator is free
