Problem allowing a user in another trusted domain access to exchange 2010 GAL

Ok, here is the scenario.

 

We are RM CC3

 

Our primary school piggbacks off our email system. It is worked in the following way.

 

There is a 2 way trust between the domains

 

We create a user in the primary domain primaryschooldomain\primaryusername this does not create anything other than a user.

 

We create a user "secondaryschooldomain\secondaryusername" in secondary school domain, it gets an email address created on our exchange 2010 server.

 

We then issue two commands in EMS which gives "primaryschooldomain\primaryusername" full access rights and send as permissions

 

This allows the user to automatically connect and send without entering other credentials in outlook. This works fine.

 

The problem I have is that these other domain users don't seem to have access to the default global address list. I cant find anything online as to how to give them access, or to resolve my issue!

So when primaryusername opens Outlook they don't see the GAL?

Correct, can't see the GAL under address book button and can't check names against it using check names button.

latest greatest SP of exch 2010 and patched up to date version outlook 2010

Do you see any addresslist or just the GAL?

yes, they see it fine as secondaryschooldomain\secondaryusername

Can you test via OWA?

they see no address lists at all, the GAL is empty, all other lists say "the bookmark is invalid" if you click them. To be honest having the GAL is all they need.

Are you saying they don't see it via OWA too?

They see it fine via OWA. Which is what is leading me to think it's some sort of permission issues.
