ben604 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Just a quick question...we run both Chrome and IE9 on our network as if something doesn't work on one, it'll work on the other... Does anyone do the same or should be we ploughing hours of time into fixing IE9 problems!?

soveryapt Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 We currently support both Chrome and IE9 on ours. I'm looking to add Firefox into that mix as well sometime soon. On the couple of Macs that we have, there is Safari, Chrome and Firefox. iPads, just the default Safari for now.
Duke5A Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I used to support Front Motion Firefox and IE9 in the base image, but pulled FF out as it was getting to be a pain in the neck to administrate. We ran solo with IE for a while until 10 came about and broke a good number of the sites my staff uses on a daily basis. So Chrome got the nod to go into the image and it has been Chrome and IE10 since the end of last school year. Chrome is easy enough to maintain and the GPO templates are quite nice.

The GPO settings have explainations of what they do, so it's just a matter of deciding how locked down you want chrome to be.
sonofsanta Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 IE9 default (don't want to scare the users by giving them anything too strange) with Chrome available, which is very handy in IT for website testing - as well as the occasional site that Just Works Better in Chrome. Chrome got the nod because of MSI & GPO availability.
