ninjabeaver Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Damn it. I'm not in the country for this. Unfortunately, I will be in EuroDisney enjoying the 15th Anniversary and Halloween celebrations.
altecsole Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Any chance of another one of these a bit further north? A three hour drive is bit much for me.
ZeroHour Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Damn it. I'm not in the country for this. Unfortunately, I will be in EuroDisney enjoying the 15th Anniversary and Halloween celebrations. You must be so disapointed having to ride all that lovely entertainment. Your credit card company will be happy though when you buy anyone anything to drink, its MEGA expensive
Dos_Box Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Any chance of another one of these a bit further north? A three hour drive is bit much for me. Both Ric and I are coming from Preston, but point taken. I would like to get something organised closer to Scotland. Perhaps Carlisle way in the future.
Dos_Box Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Carlisle will be good DB Its just as far as Corby y'know (give or take 20 miles).
FN-GM Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 well for me it will be easier because my uncle lives in the lakes
GrumbleDook Posted October 5, 2007 Author Posted October 5, 2007 I can kip at my nephew's place in Halls of Residence in Edinburgh ... Edinburgh is fine for me.
crc-ict Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 I'm not going to make any comments on locations. The last time I complained that our LA Techs group always have their meetings in the North-East of the county (I'm about as far South-West as you can go and still be in the county!) , I was very nearly ex-communicated - or should that be exterminated! Needless to say, I wasn't popular and so I keep quiet now
GrumbleDook Posted October 5, 2007 Author Posted October 5, 2007 Don't worry ... it could be worse ... you could be in Portsmouth (sorry ... I have to make comments like that about south coast towns as my wife is from Southampton!)
ZeroHour Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 I can kip at my nephew's place in Halls of Residence in Edinburgh ... Edinburgh is fine for me. My parents and sister both have flats there Party?!?
contink Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Bit tricky for me as it'd be a 1,002 mile trip one way... But then I'm in France for half-term... I'll raise a glass of vino in your direction though
russdev Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Also as this thread. http://www.edugeek.net/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=11979&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 We will be one of few people in the UK to have on the new RM Minibooks for people to play with. Russ
Guest richard Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 How about a trip to the seaside and have the conference on the Kent coast
Dos_Box Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 How about a trip to the seaside and have the conference on the Kent coast We may as well have it in Calais then, and get a van full of duty frees out of it!!

Uraken Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 will do my best to get to this can we confirm that the location is not likely to change and we are going firm with corby?
GrumbleDook Posted October 10, 2007 Author Posted October 10, 2007 Corby is confirmed, kitted out and has run one before ... we know what you lot like when it comes to chocolate / biscuits / etc
ZeroHour Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Have you got tunnocks teacakes ready for your Scottish contingent?
GrumbleDook Posted October 10, 2007 Author Posted October 10, 2007 I thought you wanted haggis, neeps and tatties? Damn ... better go and bring the haggis traps back in (remember that Northamptonshire is the single biggest breeding ground for haggis ... that is why so many Scots came down to Corby ... nothing to do with the steel works!)
alan-d Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Sorry I can't make it - Only one manning the fort while others try and get their annual holiday entitlement in.
