Library Management System

Hi All

 

Looking at putting in a 'proper' library system into our school. We will be shortly moving books from our dedicated library into classes and 2 new 'discovery' rooms. So we will need a netwoked / cloud based system. Any recommendations please?

We use Softlinks Oliver, no complaints really.

 

Its a nice web based interface that uses SQL server.

I would, at this point, avoid anything by MLS. A once useful and good company doesn't even answer support calls or the telephone.

MLS are always busy at this time of year everyone forgets how to import students

1. They should know that and adjust accordingly, they've been in the game long enough 2. It's not always people forgetting, when they pay them specifically for systems to automate it which don't work.

Our librarian has done it for years, following MLS instructions yet it still fails!

Not had problems with it myself using SIMS.

 

I have heard good things about LibLime Koha - its open source

2nd that. Support are good. We use cirqa here and once set up and working nicely and good to use.
