Dos_Box Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 (edited) I was going to tweet this, but it's got me riled now for some unknown reason. I've just been watching a couple of reviews on YouTube and more than one of them keeps referring to USB 2 as 'USB two-point-oh'. I mean why? It's not like there was ever a 2.1 or 2.2 revision! And it sounds rubbish. I'm so not looking forwards to encountering 'USB three-point-oh' as a spoken word in the very near future And breathe! Edited September 12, 2013 by Dos_Box
Michael Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 It is weird I agree. Although there was a USB 1 and 1.1, I never heard anyone call it 1.1. You'll be happy to know there is a USB 3.1 however This increases speeds to 10Gbit/s from USB 3's standard 4Gbit/s.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 This kind of behavior galls me as well! Stoopid people! Anyhow Chris, are you popping in for a coffee today?
localzuk Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 At least they do some point releases! If we were following Firefox's numbering scheme, we'd be on USB 23 by now, if you take into account all the little updates in USB 2.
sted Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 better usb 2.0 than that cable you know flatish black had a trident on it
LosOjos Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I feel your pain - I'm getting in to electronics at the moment and the US videos pronouncing solder "sod-er" drives me mad!
hawc Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 This kind of behavior galls me as well! Stoopid people! Anyhow Chris, are you popping in for a coffee today? I would presume not today now!
Domino Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I would presume not today now! He can rail about naming USB versions in person then ;-)
