Dos_Box Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/ I may run an Xmas competition with one of these as the prize
danIT Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Not a bad price either, £200 for 8GB version. Well done apple for including WIFI
bishopsgarthstockton Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Not available in the uk yet i dont think, and when it does i think o2 is the only mobile operator will be selling these bad boys
mortstar Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I'm not normally one to jump on the gadget bandwagon. But I really like the Touch - the majority of 'killer' features from the iPhone without being tied into the iPhone contract. It'll have to wait until next year - unless I win this competition!
Guest Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Not available in the uk yet i dont think, and when it does i think o2 is the only mobile operator will be selling these bad boys Your thinking about the iPhone. That's an iPod Touch.
Dos_Box Posted September 7, 2007 Author Posted September 7, 2007 Not available in the uk yet i dont think, and when it does i think o2 is the only mobile operator will be selling these bad boys This isn't the iPhone phone, it's a new type of iPod.
bishopsgarthstockton Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 bloody hell, missed that one hu? lol having a look now

Joedetic Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Well i wouldnt say no if i was given one...i might sell it on ebay though....... The only apple purchase i was considering was an old imac to run linux on
StewartKnight Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 whats the point of it?? Typical apple, style over substance!
TechMonkey Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Just like my old iPod shuffle (which I managed to lose ( ), if I was given one I would say thank you very much and use it lots. I doubt I would stump up the cash for one though. Very pretty though.
bishopsgarthstockton Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I have a nano ipod, baught it from argos when it was on offer for 80 quid. use it for running, thats it. Sound quality is excellent compared to most other mp3 players.
ZeroHour Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Pity its not bigger, I really need 30gb min
TechMonkey Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Pity its not bigger, I really need 30gb min Just out of curiosity can I ask why? Do you just hate synching your MP3 player or just like everything with you? No problem but it just bemuses me when people say they can't do with out xxxGig. My old shuffle was a 512 and I would start getting repeat after a week or so (depending on usage) plus by then I was happy to rehear the repeated songs.
HodgeHi Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Because you can boot your mac straight off it and do lots of other stuff like carry all your apps with yah in case you really need that toast, but mainly to boot your machines with it!
Midget Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 i have a 40GB iRiver (fantasic item) that i keep in my car for when I get fed up of the CDs in the CDChanger or for long journeys so I can listen to an audio book (Discworld FTW)
mattx Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 When you buy stuff from ITunes, is it still tied to the Ipod ?
timbo343 Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 These look pretty neat... i was looking at them yesterday. The only thing is, i bet its pretty eassy to scratch the screen on them, and i wonder how long until someone hacks it so it becomes a drive in explorer in windows instead of using Itunes to convert the music.
HodgeHi Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Apparently it is a lot more robust than the iPod. There is a video where the iPhone goes through stress testing and the guy gouges the screen with a knife and it doesn't scratch. I will see if i can find the link. It obviously won't stand up to the blender...
EduTech Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 ooooo i like that.. shame it's not available in the Uk yet though.. yh price tag is very good aswell.. nice one Apple.. WIFI aswell not bad going
crc-ict Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 When you buy stuff from ITunes, is it still tied to the Ipod ? Not if you burn it onto a CD-RW, then re-import it into Windows Media Player as an unprotected WMA or MP3 ;-)

Both, I like having my 25gb's of music with me. It means depending on the mood I can listen to what I want. Very useful to take over to a mates also. I also use a pretty high encoding rate for my mp3 rips so albums are pretty big and I would only really get 2 albums on your shuffle
