Ricoh photocopier job logging/reporting

If anyone uses a Ricoh copier, is there an easier way to do this?

 

Basically we have instituted pin codes on the copier and need to look at copying jobs on a weekly basis.

Looking at the copier interface it appears there are two ways to look at jobs, there is the onscreen job log or the downloadable log.

 

The onscreen log tells you who copied and the quantity of copying but you have to click on the job to see when it happened. Therefore you have to click through the jobs to work out the time period you want to look at. Plus the interface is so slow this is tedious.

 

The downloadable log tells you who copied when but not the quantity.

 

So yeah is there a better way of doing this to get who, when and how much?

Try Ricoh's Smart Device Manager for Admin - you should be able to manage users PINs and stat's for multiple devices. I don't think that you'll be able to specify a time period for the job list, but if you reset the count every month you'll get an exact usage per user. It's free from their website.

There is a pcounter embedded version for Ricoh so you could go down that route for complete print management?

Spot on! Yes it gives a total of jobs run per user so I can easily work out the cost. Thanks!

Thanks Ben, that is indeed my preferred solution as we already use PaperCut and PaperCut MF seems to have an embedded solution for these copiers... but unfortunately it seems the budget can't stretch that far. But fingers crossed for the future..

PaperCut is best option, don't waste your time with PCounter, too dated and will cause you issues.

@MatthewL whilst I agree that the pcounter interface does looks dated the s/w itself performs fine for our needs and the embedded version is working fine in our Konica copier however the only reason I suggested it was that I knew they had an embedded solution I hadn't looked up papercut to see if they supported the Ricoh's

You are right the software does work, just if someone was coming to print management from a none managed point of view, would always recommend PaperCut.
